Spintires is a game with an original theme and a great example of a simple, but extremely playable product. I found no enjoyment from playing Spintires only frustration. Its hard to imagine a better truck driving model - game engine paired with Havok covers up any issues the game might have (and it has some minor ones). Right now it seems like Oovee started to make an amazing game but just stopped before they finished it. It is this that adds a whole other level of difficulty to the game especially when you end up getting your rescue vehicles stuck as well, and there isn’t much you can do about it after that.Īll in all I would not recommend this game to anyone unless the developers were to add a few quality of life improvements, namely a proper tutorial as well as some different activities to do besides collecting logs and getting stuck in the mud.
In the end you will get stuck in the mud, it does not matter what map you choose or where you drive there is always mud.
Spintires crane controls how to#
Once you manage to find the proper vehicles to collect logs you’ll still need to spend some time figuring out how to control the arm of the crane. The controls were difficult to learn and the game didn’t offer much in the way of a tutorial, aside from the occasional pop up for some commands, so you were on your own to figure it all out. However I was deeply disappointed in the lack of updates and that there does not seem to be any other missions other than collecting logs from different locations.
Spintires looks great, the level of detail in the environment including the water effects are some of the best I have seen in most games. You are able to drive flatbed trucks and all terrain vehicles along with many more. Released in 2014, it is still updated by developers and modders and has over 200k sold copies. There are a fair number of different vehicles to drive and explore with which helps to keep the game interesting.
